Those citizen appointments look like a "who's who" list of Manning / Fox supporters.
Jeff Simpson just ran for Village Trustee and came in last with 320 votes. Jennifer Pickel got twice that in the Village alone, yet she didn't get appointed to either of the two committees she applied for.
Sharon Henes has run for school board twice and came in last in Cottage Grove.
Neither of these people have strong support in their own community. However, they supported Susan Manning in the last election, so they got the job.
Kathy Thomas served 30 years in elected office in Monona, until she lost this spring.
Apparently, Monona politics will continue to influence the school board.
Not only is the school board completely controlled by a voting block, now two of the three committees are as well. This is a total joke.
